A Quick Tip on How To Create A Priceless Company Slogan in the 21st Century [HOWTO]

Company Slogans are as important as the company's name. Company slogans have been existing for a while now and have become the other significant half for companies worldwide. A good company slogan can give you a far better chance of  success -- something that not too many companies are doing these days.

Take the Coca Cola company for example, they tend to always come up with a brilliant slogan every year -- (2011 Coca Cola slogan: "Life Begins Here").

Companies use slogans as a simple strategy to attract more hungry customers to their products -- and it has proven that it works ever so perfect.

Everyday we see these catchy slogans on the TV and on the internet but what about the slogans that suck and fail miserably and never make it to the alter -- yeah they die together with the product. So be very careful on how you pick your slogans. Take a look at these unsuccessful slogans that I found while randomly surfing on the internet.

  • Charmin: "Butt... Wipe... Err."
  • Microsoft: "How much are you going to pay today?"
  • Eggs: "The Incredible Edible Ovum."
  • MTV: "Loud and easy to spell."
  • Saks 5th Avenue: "You Could Shop Here if You're Poor, But That Would be Stupid."
  • Iguana: "The other green meat."
  • Penis Enlargement Specialists: "It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing!"
  • Nike: "Just buy the damn shoes, you flabby spineless lump!"
  • Daisy Air Rifles: "Keeping kids off your lawn for over forty years."
  • Canon Photocopiers: "Quit calling them Xeroxes, dammit!"
  • Pepto Bismol: "Squash the Squirts!"
  • Trojans: "Just add meat."
  • Apple MacIntosh: "Hey, we thought of it first!"
  • Radio Shack: "You've got questions, we've got geek losers!"

I had to laugh at some of these but anyways I am not here to ponder who came up with these brilliant unsatisfying slogans; I am here to show you how to select the perfect slogan for your company or product. It is pretty easy but it is also a tricky task, I must add. Before I start I would like to leave you with a nice refreshment of excellent and successful slogans.

  • LG: "Life's Good"
  • Apple: "Think different"
  • Budweiser: "The king of beers"
  • Reebok: "I am what I am"
  • McDonalds: "I am loving it"
  • Nike: "Just Do It"
  • Nokia: "Connecting People"

If you are opening a new business be sure to showcase your product along with a remarkable and exciting new slogan. If you don't have a slogan you might as well drop dead. I didn't mean it like that, I was just being sarcastic. No seriously just give up!

What you can do is get on the internet and look for ideas and don't make the mistakes that the top companies above did. YouTube is an excellent source where you can look for something new and catchy.

Make sure your slogan is unique because what I have been noticing is that companies are cynically copying each other's slogans. In the war of advertising anything is accepted my friend except for copy-cats -- they always end up looking bad and destroying their own ideas.

Adding a tone to your slogan is a good way to create that perfect slogan. You can be serious, funny, lighthearted -- it all depends on the kind of product you sell.

I always like to say that "Success is measured by how creative you are" -- the more creative you are the more chances you have of being liked and climb to the top of the ladder of success.

Do you know of any company slogans that suck here in Belize? If you do, don't hesitate to share. Hope you have joyed this short article.
